Woosie Success

23 lucky children, all decked out in orange Team VGE shirts, enjoyed a special Master Class with Ian Woosnam on Wednesday 23rd July, after the former world number one invited the lucky group to practice with him at Royal Porthcawl.

After taking part in a Q&A session where Woosie talked about his career highlights, the 1991 Masters champion demonstrated a wide range of shots and passed on some advice to the budding golfers.

There were around 500 members of the public watching the Master Class which took place on the same practice range where the like of Tom Watson, Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Fred Couple and Miguel Ángel Jimenéz were all practicing ahead of the 2014 Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex.

VGE will also receive worldwide media coverage, with the Master Class be filmed by American networks such as ESPN and the Golf Channel, as well as Sky Sports and European Tour Productions.

After Woosie gave his demonstration, the VGE team had a chance to sharpen their skills and hit some shots before Woosnam challenged them to a nearest to target competition.

Thank you Ian Woosnam and all at VGE for a fantastic day. What an opportunity and experience for all the children…………..Kathryn Horrell
